Trapped Together

Stranded on an unknown planet, not a similar being in sight, but never alone. Following their abduction by the mysterious Sandbox Research group and the subsequent crash of their transport ship, the strangers Asterisk and Pulse find each other bound together, forced to cooperate to survive and escape while unlocking the truth of the world they've found. 

LifeLine

An orbit manifests as an ever-present circular area centered around both Asterisk and Pulse, symbolic of their strange newfound power, forced upon them at a price. Move one out of the other's range and you'll overwhelm both of their systems, so keep track of where they are and where they need to be when you're planning your next move. Deactivation of either from physical damage means loss of the other as well, so keep track of their individual health pools to determine who is most in need of help and protect them with the use of items, upgrades, and choices that take them away from constant enemy action. Use cooperation, strategy, and the occasional dependence on one of the two for success.

Explore or Extinguish

Explore to your heart's content, but stay sharp: there's no telling what's out there looking for you. Whether it's hazardous terrain with steep plummets to oblivion or actively malicious mechanized creatures, no path is completely safe, but the final choice is yours to make. Would you prefer to risk your life in combat, fighting for an item to aid in the next inevitable conflict, or take the long, unexplored way around enemies to get more information on the world itself in preparation for your next encounter?

Balance and Overcome

Customization is key, especially with all these unused spare parts lying around after the explosion. Beggars can't be choosers, so pick them up in case you want to use them later. Whether you want to emphasize attack, defense, or item use, there's an arm for anyone, but be careful of what detriments they may cause. Choose which arm to equip for each character based on how you want to place them, and you'll overcome obstacles how you want, regardless of what comes your way.
